Use of evidence-based cessation strategies during past-year quit attempts was assessed using four questions: 1) In the past 12 months, have you used counseling, telephone helpline, books, pamphlets, videos, quit tobacco clinic, class, support group, or web-based program to help when you last tried to quit smoking?? (measured at follow-up), 2) In the past 12 months, have you used a nicotine patch, gum, inhaler, nasal spray, lozenge, or pill when you last tried to quit smoking?
