The afternoon light created shadows on the backside of the casino and the pathway to it

showcasing the gorgeous nacre (the mother of pearl coating) that the abalone produces

James works at Catalina Island Marine Institute, teaching marine science to young students that visit the camp through out the year. Inspired by his research and surroundings, James pays homage to the animal locals through his art. He hand carves each work of art on lino and wooden boards, and hand presses the inked up boards on to heavy weight paper. Linograph
