In previous I/R models, these effects include attenuation of oxidative stress, preservation of endothelial and microvascular integrity, modulation of nitric oxide signaling, suppression of inflammatory cytokine expression, and regulation of apoptotic pathways.55,62,63 These properties suggest that BPC 157 may represent a potential therapeutic candidate for I/R injury
